So when 8 people are killed in a gas explosion during the festival, the planning committee faces a daunting question: Where do we go from here? The first meeting for next year’s installment is marred by grief, anger, and confusion that digs up the dark underbelly of small town politics and prejudice.

Mark and Crystal meet for the first time at the funeral of their mutual friend, Morrison. As they reflect on their respective friendships with him, they discover they have conflicting accounts of who he was. As they attempt to reconcile these differences, old wounds are opened and Morrison's sprawling influence on their lives comes to light. An exploration of the subtlety of manipulation and emotional abuse.
